Terms of Service

Last updated: June 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Legal Assistant (the "Service"), operated by ByteFuture. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Legal Assistant is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The Service helps you prepare, sign, and store documents, but it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney. For matters that require professional judgment, consult your own counsel.

1. The Service

Legal Assistant lets you form companies, request documents from a library of templates in plain English, route signatures, review inbound drafts, and keep a permanent record. Your instance runs on a private server or a dedicated device you control. Templates and automated outputs are provided for convenience and may not fit every situation.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Subscriptions and billing

4. The dedicated device

If you order a dedicated device, it ships ready to use and your data lives on hardware you physically control. Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery. You are responsible for the physical security of the device and for backups of any data you wish to retain.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or misrepresent your authority to act on behalf of any person or company. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the information you submit.

6. Your content

You retain all rights to the documents and data you create or upload ("Your Content"). You grant us only the limited rights necessary to operate the Service for you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it to train third-party models.

7. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that automated outputs, templates, or redlines are accurate, complete, or legally sufficient for your needs.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteFuture will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ByteFuture harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk or legal exposure. On the dedicated-device plan, termination of the subscription does not require you to return the device unless otherwise agreed.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ByteFuture is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
